CAKE CARE

​


 

By following this cake care guide, this will help to ensure the products purchased stay as fresh for as long as possible. It will also help to ensure the products purchased are not damaged in transit, or that the cake quality is not affected by incorrect storage. 

CAKE COLLECTION
 
  • Cake should always be carried by the base of the box with both hands. Do not hold the sides of the box, or you may risk damaging the cakes. 

  • Customers are to ensure they check their cakes upon collection or if delivered.

TRANSPORTATION
 
  • Cakes should be transported on a flat surface in either the footwell or the boot of the vehicle. Cakes should never be transported on uneven surfaces (eg. a persons lap). 

  • If you are collecting your cake on a warm/hot day, the air conditioning should be turned on prior to collecting your cake. This is to make sure your cake is being transported in a cool environment and is not going directly into a hot vehicle. 

  • Care should be taken when vehicle is in motion to ensure the cake is not damaged. (e.g. watch out for speed bumps, try not to brake sharply etc.)


 

CAKE STORAGE
 
  • Cupcake bouquets/boxes are to be stored in a cool, dry place.

  • Cakes (Wedding/Celebration/Number) are to be stored in the fridge in the box provided.

  • Refrigerated cakes are to be removed from the fridge 1-2hrs before the event to allow it to come to room temperature.

  • All cakes must be kept away from direct sunlight, heat sources or any moisture.


 

CAKE CONSUMPTION
 
  • Prior to cutting a cake, all inedible items to be removed (flowers, toppers, polyballs etc.).

  • Large cakes may contain internal support structures. These are to be removed when cutting.

  • Any leftover cake should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and be consumed within three days of collection / delivery date.

  • Cupcake bouquets are to be consumed within three days of collection / delivery date and can be stored in an airtight container. They should not be placed in a fridge as this may affect the quality.
